PlaceBox.es, like PlaceHold.it, is a free image placeholder service that allows developers to quickly add placeholder images to their markup without having to create images. They both have options for size, background color, font color and custom text. The main difference between the two are that PlaceBox.es allows you to change font parameters such as font size, bold, italics, underline and strikethrough and can have a gradient background. Personally, I like the look of PlaceHold.it better, mostly because of their font choice. PlaceBox.es uses Verdana and it’s ugly.
